Are you planning a trip through Nevada that takes you down I-80 or Highway 93, and trying to figure our where to stop for an overnight stay? If you can get to Wells, you won't regret it if you want some good food and a clean and safe place to sleep.
For dinner, you have to try Luther's Bar and Grill. It's only two blocks from Sharon Motel, so you can have some beers and not have to drive. I was there a few days ago and had the rib eye steak, baked potato, broccoli, dinner salad, and a draft Samuel Adams. Need I say more? Except that it was excellent. I asked Sandy, the owner, how she could sell a rib eye for just $15, and she told me she cuts the steaks herself. The meat is grass-fed and locally sourced.
I've also enjoyed the pork spare ribs, chicken salad, and hamburgers. Everything I've eaten at Luther's tastes great (the restaurant is also known for its pizza). And the friendly servers are a big plus.
For breakfast, as you drive out of town, try Bella's for their great bacon, omelets, and espresso. Just what you need to get you going for a long drive.
And one more tip. Don't speed in Wells. The speed limit on 6th Street to get to Sharon Motel is 25 mph and is strictly enforced.
